Lojem is a very old place, meaning it has plenty of history. A lot of that history has been left behind, for one reason or another. Ruins dot the Lojem landscape from all sorts of time periods. The following is a not yet completed list of the ruins of Lojem. There are still plenty more to be studied and documented!
Karfelon and The Four Locks: The Alfrego Sea has swallowed up these ruins. The island of Karfelon and its four canal locks, Lock Harmon, Lock Laid, Lock Ist-Elekt-Iri, and Lock Kylar, spent a long time trapped below the sea, completely abandoned. It may or may not have been raised from the ocean since then. Rumors say it floats in the sky, though no one has seen it do so since those rumors began.
Lentri: Lentri is less of a city and more of a shrine. It was the landing site of one of the Kaaren of Destruction’s lifeboats, specifically one housing many elves. The surviving elves initially thought themselves the only survivors, but eventually met back with the rest of the world. They abandoned the city and established it as a sanctuary, a reminder of Torandor’s destruction and just how close everyone was to being destroyed.
Malplena: This island, found around 3 days away from Rougtero, is completely abandoned. A long time ago, an explosion happened on this island. The only remains are four odd towers that no one has been able to determine the purpose of. No other life exists on this island.
The Miriton Tower: This small island used to house a tiny town and a massive tower. Now it houses only a massive tower. Once an industrious magical area, an unknown being, a monster, a Creature, offered the people of the tower knowledge in exchange for power. In order to obtain this power, the mages of the tower built the tower into a sort of weapon. Unfortunately, this weapon was possessed by the Creature, who took the lives of the mages for itself before the mechanisms of the tower forced it to sleep.
For centuries, Miriton was a cursed ghost town, with the tower standing high in the sky, resting. Adventurers occasionally came through to grab old magical artifacts. Recently the ancient tower was established as a holy site of TmFmemtm, having cleared away an evil wizard trying to control the tower’s mechanisms and presumably putting the ancient Creature that originally destroyed the place to sleep.
Temporani Ruins: The ruins of an ancient settlement ruled by dragons in the days after Torandor's destruction. It is barely a pile of rubble now. What happened at this mysterious place, none may never truly know. Though it seems At’ena has some sort of strong presence near these ruins…
Verickti: Once a town of dwarves, the city of Verickti has suffered a fate similar to Karfelon. When the sea wall was destroyed, Verickti was destroyed along with it, flooding and being left to rot. While portions of the city are still above water, no one lives in this abandoned city anymore.
