Gentle readers. After the publication of last weeks Times I was approached by Leader Prem of the Solarium. As you can guess from the tone of the articles in that issue I rather expected this visit to become confrontational. Instead I was given an eye opening view into the world around us. Those of you who have listened to his speaches know parts of what I'm talking about. Here and in the coming weeks I will try to share my enlightenment with you.Leader Prem arrived at my front desk looking rather happy instead of the anger I had expected. He asked about the articles and I stated emphatically that they were the truth as I saw it and that there were a lot of unanswered questions. At this time I expected a defensive posture but his behavior again suprised me.
Prem sighed and nodded in agreement with my statements. "Yes", he said, "There are a lot of questions that need to be answered. Mind if I sit?" Leader Prem sat in my shop and immediately began to address the concerns that I had written about. I have to say his arguments were pretty convincing, but I wasn't yet won over yet. Prem suggested we go to the Solarium for a backrub and some refreshments. A long cool drink sounded good so I agreed. An hour later I was totally relaxed and ready to again probe for answers.
Leader Prem took me to a small library within the Solarium that houses the histories of Centralia's Solarium. He showed that the Solarium has always had a special working relationship with the Lords and People of Centralia. His first example was the maintenance of Is'Damor. His final example was astonishing. Two hundred fourty years ago all of the Lords left Centralia on a pilgremage of some sort. In their absence they left the day to day running of the city in the capable hands of the Solarium. Prem chuckled and noted that it would certainly have made things easier if the Lords had been so formal this time. Instead the Solarium is helping out where needed as it always has.
The next peice of the puzzle fell into place when I was shown signed confessions from people who were/are collaborating with a large outside group to weaken and, eventually, conquor Centralia. Some of these people also admitted to complacency during the Bastadorian wars including sabotaging defenses in Ocean Shore.
This is just the tip of the iceberg. Much, much more was revealed to me at that meeting and others since. I will sum this article up by expressing my deepest apologies to the Solarium for my earlier pieces. I can only attribute it to the stress of our times.
You can't help but admire the efficiency with which the Solarium assumed the duties that were dropped by the Lords and the Enclave. In the latest step to fortify our Island against intrusion Leader Prem has announced the formation of the Pregada Youth Brigade.Any youth of Pregada between the ages of 12-19 may join. Its ranks are taught fundamental combat techniques, discipline, basic tactics, civil and temple law.
The main purpose of the Brigade is to serve as unoffical peacekeepers, but they may also be called upon to fight for our Island if we are attacked.
In kinder times the would be followers of the demon Rudri were tolerated within our City. Centralians are a tolerant people. With the encroaching crisis of invasion we can no longer afford the tolerance of a class of people who seek to promote chaos. We must stem their lusts.Effective immediately the "Oubliette" is not open to any form of public gathering. Anyone known or seen to be preaching the dark ones propaganda will be taken to the Solarium for quesioning. Those found guilty will be executed.
Anyone who knows of such people is encouraged to report them for your own safety... for the safety of us all.
