Plot Synopsis

Having suffered catastrophic losses after being lied to by the last set of adventurers, General Alwan was understandably reluctant to call for further aid. His dire circumstance though impelled him to seek aid once more, and courageous help he finally got.
Sore pressed on all sides, he gave the adventurers a choice of how best they felt they could aid him, and they chose to seek out help from another great lord of the land to the south. Along the way, they passed a sad remnant of what in better days was a trading post between the two cities, from which an oracle was able to give them much guidance on events now, never, and unknown. After arriving at the Zephyr Oasis and passing the swarm of refugees, they met with Taygen, the old diviner who ruled the desert lands. Because certain more powerful adventurers have passive soul sight, they realized that the old man had become demonic somehow and managed to annoy him into being ready to obliterate them with their uncanny knowledge of his existence and a new biological weapon, before talking to the demon and coming to an understanding of events. They managed to acquire a meeting place for the actual demon, though of course being adventurers was but a ruse to find a location where they could potentially break him.

Of course, demonic possession is not a thing to be taken lightly, and so our adventurers traveled far across the lands to seek the advice of other rulers (Conveniently joined by portals!). In the north, they wonder about this new revelation and how it could affect the war. At this point, Loren, who had so far played secretary for the powers that be, welcoming and guiding new adventurers, decided that she really wasn't being payed enough to continue trying to hold together a collapsing empire, and left to try and seek her fortune elsewhere.

Many words were had trying to solve the many growing issues. The most important course of action, it was decided, was to find the dragon queen and perhaps make an agreement against a common foe.
And with even more words it was agreed that they would temporarily not eat Alwan's people and deal with the demonic threat.
With that dealt with, the adventurers turned to Alwan himself, and remembering knowledge found in their travels found a way to give some relief to the man's tainted visions.

With luck, they might hold out.
