Plot Synopsis

The party was hired by a mysterious tattooed figure to retrieve a spellbook from an abandoned stringhold once owned by a wizard named Sverfelheim. After fighting several smoke elementals guarding the entrance to what appeared to be a small dwarven outpost heavy in norse symbolism, the party explored the assorted rooms, looting libraries filled with mythology books, kitchens containing 4000 year old bread and wine, and a bedroom filled with massive amounts of pornography, the party discovered two enchanted swords that were used as keys to open a large portal door with what appeared to be a carving of Yggdrasil on the front. After braving knockout gas, dropping a kracken on a game of minesweeper, and expertly moonwalking through teleporting doors, they finally found themselves in the arcane laboratory. They swapped out the spellbook from an obviously booby trapped pedestal (Indiana Jones style), but were prevented from leaving by a rather rude smokey ghost of Sverfelheim himself. After he refused to listen to diplomacy, Scorpio decided that it would be much easier to take him down with two quadruple crits. With Sverfelheim out of the way, the party looted his lab, and attempted to open his spellbook. However, the spellbook had a bit of an attitude, wasn't going to listen to just anyone. So, instead of promptly devilering the book to the employer, they siphoned off its consiousness, putting it into a coma and making it impossible to decode. The employer, though a bit peeved that his research would be delayed by four days, was still glad to have the spellbook, thanked the party for their efforts, telling them that they could come in very handy as he continues his important mission, assuring them he could offer more work in the near future.
