Adventurers need for a risky assault against the home base of the Grigori (Big Pink Crystals). Ask for EX
Plot Synopsis
When the adventurers asked about EX they were magically telelported to a space ship. They were told that thanks to many Grigori showing up on or near Jaern in quick succession the Mordus have finally managed to track them down to their origin after hundreds of years of hunting. They come from a very odd planet that is currently moving it self towards Jaern.
The Grigori seem to somehow generate energy from Unnatural Mutation, Evolution, or Technological Advance. And they are sending this energy to something at the center of this planet. This planet is currently heading towards Jaern at a rate that would get it there in 10 years, but it has been accelerating and making course corrections under its own power.
The adventurers were hired to land on the planet in a ship and protect technicians who would set up a technological based teleport pad on the planet. This was needed because no magical teleport to the planet has worked and the technological version needed equipment at each end. Several hundred other ships were lost protecting the adventurer's ship, but they managed to crash safely on the planet and begin setting up.
An ocean of purple ooze seemed to coallesce near where the party landed and spit out black copies of humanoid figures weilding laser rifles. The party finished them off pretty quickly. A few black land shark copies attacked and did little damage. A while later a giant black armored beetle crawled out with more guys with laser rifles hiding under its shell. It damaged a few adventurers and their defenses fairly well before being killed.
The last attack took much longer to form and a huge black flaming demon emerged from the ocean to attack. It decided to Foolhardy Tanis and managed to hit, but rolled a 2 so Claude was able to use a luck amulet to force it to miss. The demon managed to accidently cut its own head off and the planet seemed quieter after that. Nothing else attacked before the teleporter was complete and reinforcements arrived.
