TSB;EoA: Amid This Somber Sleep Session 9 (Peracog Night, The Dreaming) |

Plot Synopsis

As the party moved throughout Percog Night, Uriel casts 2 Weal or Woes, one pointing to the left (which gave Weal) and one to the right (which gave Weal and Woe) and knowing that the inside, where they want to go, is dangerous, they head to the right. Or well Uriel, Ujyaku, Suiken, and Cyrus do. Rik just keeps moving straight and Galaxy Eye goes with him.
The party of 4 comes across their recurring tree, that’s warm, bleeds, and isn’t quite connected to the ceiling. Uriel sticks his arm in and Cryus leaps into the ceiling and they both find that once you go up you can’t come back down. So Cyrus has to move horizontally towards this blue light he sees.Meanwhile Ujyaku inserts black ichor from the spherical cow into the wound and the “tree,” previously red turns white and starts to burst forth into a purple-winged mantis dripping with a pure white ichor which then proceeds to attack party. Fighting ensues and it ends with Ujyaku casting a super chaos causing the mantis to disgorge a life size statue of her, a dragon egg and a Chalicotheriidae with the head of an alligator and some sort of magic in its mouth to charm those around it. After trying to approach and getting punched back the party decides to just move on, ignoring the images of the new creature that appear similar to how the tree did.
The party of 2 sees this golden shimmer in the distance and Rik chases after it, running into 2 trees at 110 feet per round and then short porting into one and going unconscious. Galaxy Eye heals him with a potion. Now being more careful he reaches the sparkle and upon touching it, his vision is overlaid with a gold filter that fades except for this elven figure who walks away from Rik. He follows it for a while as the ground and ceiling start to converge and as they do Rik gets kicked in the head by Cyrus’ feet. Cyrus joins them as they walk into a dark blue light only Cyrus sees and follows the man that Rik sees.
They appear in the town surrounded by mountains and the night sky above them. The town itself is a mixture of North Shinnean, Splint, and Raikoujin architecture though from different points in time. The city is deserted with no signs of life though houseplants are watered and there’s no dust indoors. Eventually the other 3 make their way there and at some point everyone sees the sky fade to a pure black very familiar to them, after this the party rests, Uriel and Rik find their homes, Cyrus a bakery, Suiken his dormitory from his dojo, Ujyaku under a pavilion, and Galaxy Eye in the streets. After sleeping, everyone wakes up to find it’s still night time and Uriel casts a spell to know the time and gets 3 different times of days and 5 different years. After this everyone goes about looking through the town. Cyrus and Uriel bump into Suiken and ascend into the mountains. Meanwhile Rik returns to the house he was guided to the previous “day” and finds a trail of footprints leading into the mountains, he follows them and meets Ujyaku and Galaxy Eye on the way.
After ascending they look beyond the mountains at a sea of black ichor and on the horizon images, some of their fellow party members, some of other planes, many of places they’ve been as they all get this same feeling of familiarity and understand where they are. The Dreaming is a place built by the dreams of people, and where they are is a palace a but greater than just the dreams of people, this place is the dreams of something bigger than all of them, something they’ve been dealing with, without truly recognizing the scope of it. They’re in The Impossible Dreams.
