Plot Synopsis
Party loots some of the cloaks of the cultists before returning to town. Bai An, glad that Bai Guo returned unharmed, made a celebratory dinner with cake. The party, after some nighttime shenanigans, got some rest. They visit Chang Fen in the morning to get paid, deliver their intel, and go shopping for weapons or other upgrades. Vladisk gets a chihuahua, and Hex buys several animals. Later that night, they exchange stories as to how they ended up where they were (backstories).
Chang Fen eventually returns to the inn to inform the party that the Furen worked under someone called the Xiansheng, who had other apprentices besides the now dead Furen. He re-hires the party (for a larger sum with convincing from Blue, NPC, Quin, and Ace) to investigate and break up the cult so that they do not further threaten Beihui Village. Hex contacts his old crew, and they wait for their arrival.
After some discussion, Beretta, Vladisk, and Hex encourage Bai Guo to join them on their journeys as someone who can control water and make ice for their provisions. Ace and Quin take him off to the side to threaten/encourage him to join them as well, with Hex stepping in before things escalated too far and Bai An stepping in to defend her inn and her son.
Upon the day of their departure, Chang Fen gave a stone to Hex so they could keep in contact, and Bai Guo was convinced to join the party in their travels.
