TSB;EoA: Veins of Primordial Blight [Session 5] (Pakao; Elemental Plane of Fire)

Plot Synopsis

The other party that had gone to get the communication and teleportation device doesn’t return for a week, so the party gets some downtime to do whatever they like while in Mordrik.

Once the other party returns, they are all brought into a building and briefed on what they need to do in the differing planes- the party is tasked with finding “artifacts” within the three other planes to hopefully stabilize the elemental planes and slow their collision. On their way out they pick up a resident of Mordrik, a bat-person who goes by the name of Yogurtskull.

After the meeting, Tal briefs them on the things happening in each plane- explosions in the water plane, cooling of the fire, and the air plane has gotten more chaotic. The party chooses to visit the fire plane first, in search of a ‘Pride of a Star’, whatever that means. Tal is able to bring them to the city of Pakao, though the entire place appears to have been abandoned a few months ago due to some unknown reason.

After a few minutes they stumble into Samson, who they killed not but a week or so ago. Ignis wants to shoot him, but the rest of the party talks him out of it and starts to explore the city. They send Yogurt and Edgar (Ignis’s crow) up to scout the place, and see the blight that has been slowly creeping over the city. This strange black “obsidian” that doesn’t reflect light and appears flat. They fly closer, with Yogurt attempting to bite one of the tendrils creeping over one of the towers. Edgar flies back as Yogurt flies in and experiences the horrors(tm). (Also gives the horrors a gallon of meth.) Eventually Yogurt breaks out and flies back to the group.

The party eventually makes it to where the blight is creeping over the plane, and notices statues of what appear to be naga-like beings fleeing from something (presumably the blight) behind them. The party starts to continue forward- before Wisteria starts to feel their being begin to be sucked away from the obsidian. In lieu of this information the party decides to leave out the opposite gates and find a way to the source of this that didn’t require walking over the strange obsidian.

They make their way out to an even worse scene, for as far as the horizon can see, the obsidian stretches- covered in a strange ask-snow substance. They decide to run over it, limiting the time they come in contact with the stone. The ash-snow covering it provide some respite as they sprint into the obsidian waste.
