MCAS V - Merchant of War 3 (Raikougan, Cahyali)

Plot Synopsis

The party finished fighting off Sunflight Tsorren and Alejandro de Zinera, a few of their members almost succumbing to the effects of Tsorren’s living bioweapon. With Reese’s healing abilities and the incinerating magics of Bailin and Oswald, the group was able to destroy and rid the hospital of the mutated monstrosities. Floki froze Tsorren into a solid ice statue, before dragging him away in order to kill him. Tsorren used his liquidation magic in order to escape, but Floki fired a cone of flame in order to evaporate and incinerate the Tsorren puddle. Through the flames, it is unknown whether all of Tsorren was destroyed, or if even a single drop escaped. Meanwhile, the group compressed de Zinera into a marble, before starting to explore and investigate the lab. In a stroke of luck, de Zinera managed to escape from the marble, and a standoff began. De Zinera called for a peaceful means to settle the conflict, and bargained for his life, and Reese agreed to spare him in exchange for a conversation.

The party led de Zinera to the cell to ask him questions, while others went to examine the smuggled inc creature from Itlan Youali. After answering a few of Reese’s questions, and revealing that the plans the conspirators have for the Raikougan were merely a stepping stone for something greater, Reese confronted de Zinera about the mission that led to his sister’s death. After hearing de Zinera’s answer, Reese executed de Zinera, and took whatever information he had on him, including a bandolier of poisoned knives, and a strange clock-winding key that Floki and Reese both identified to be a hidden magic item that activated upon the holder falling asleep. Floki decided to keep the key to investigate, while the rest of the party split up across the lab to find any evidence and information, as well as free the prisoners. Through a (mostly) careful application of explosives, the party managed to sneak back upstairs and escape the hospital as the sun set across the horizon. They teleported back to the Pars Caligo, and made plans to return to Chongbai to find and defeat The Faceless One.
