TSB;EoA: Katabasis Game 6 (Mirkwood Forest, Kurago)

Plot Synopsis

The party tracked the remaining scraps leading to Darnell. They led the party deep into the nearby Mirkwood Forest. As they entered, Wyren and Agni noticed strange arrows pointing down what looked like a man made pathway, definitely a trap of some kind. As they approached, Wyren deftly avoided a log-trap and Agni noticed a bit of strange magical energy in the area as some braziers were lit to spread light on a small stage. Kiki called out to the party, noting she was simply trying to trap spirits to gain the energy required to forcefully merge with Darnell, and that she didn’t expect to meet Wyren here. The whole situation caused Asher to appear from Wyren for the first time in a very long time. Kiki dropped a tied up Darnell and a few strange magical puppets to serve as her minions, but Merrit summoned a Grazoon which sang a Song of Death and paralyzed both Asher and the puppets. The party cut Darnell loose and stashed him temporarily in a bag of holding while they tracked down Kiki. Ouros got very lucky and paralyzed her as well with permafrost. This allowed the party to destroy her spirit simply by flying up into the air and dropping her.

This set off Asher a bit, causing a fight for control between him and Wyren. Ouros tried to forcefully stasis him whilst Feare and Lucero did their best to calm down Wyren naturally. Letting Darnell take charge, the combined efforts of Lucero and Darnell eventually allowed Wyren to cage Asher again for the time being.

Kiki now defeated, the party took Darnell to one of the holes of nothingness for investigation. He informed the party that the “holes” seemed to be points where spaces were slightly scrunched together. As though the places were so small they no longer existed. As in the point fed into itself, bending the space around it, flickering with indescribable colors followed by a void of pure empty black. Darnell had no way to deal with them, sadly, as they were beyond his power to fix. Heading back to the Nav, Darnell explained that while in the Mirkwood forests, he always felt like he was being watched. This led to a voice behind the party saying “Watched by what, dearie?”
