Make it past the pale butterfly
Plot Synopsis
They made it past the portal, where Link was able to stare down Faustus. Unwilling to chance his luck with the swordsman then and there, he allowed himself to be humiliated as he was nearly disgraced in front of his whole court. The party fought three wolves on their way to the big bridge south of Drora. They managed to bring one of them to their side after Lucinda unlocked the creature's inner potential as a lightning mage. Bane's soul acted as a magnet for other creatures of great power - he was drawn to the bridge, where he immediately appeared. There, the party attempted cross the bridge - but Lucinda's repeated DIs and genuflection finally caught the Butterfly's attention. Knocked unconscious during the quick round, Bane didn't contribute much to the fight as shadow clones of not only them, but their greatest fears began to manifest. Their stats were drained, but ultimately the massive wave of friendship combined with Kip's emotionless throw of an arrow resulted in the Butterfly falling unconscious. Riding along the length of the friendship beam Fionna absorbed the collective power of their friendship as she stabbed the butterfly with Hope, piercing it's heart. Lucinda turned into a spear, the butterfly turned into a boat, and they had an anime duel in the butterfly's mindscape as she died. Drora was nuked with a literal actual nuclear weapon. Mercy returned to Nerii, spurned her employer and accepted the power of the white dragon - as did Kip and The Vine. Lucinda has had her soul partially merged with that of a former demigod.
