The characters responded to a posting on the public boards about a sickness in some southern fishing villages. They each arrived at the Roving Sanctuary to join the mission to find a cure. Brother Harold told them about a sickness that they had been fighting in some fishing villages for almost a year. They would bring a village back to health, and no sooner would they arrive on the next island to tend the next village than the previous one would send an emissary to tell them that the village was sick again.
After a one-night lay-over at the portal farm, they traveled six days south-by-south-west to a small, isolated group of islands known on the maps as Neptune's Crown. Once there, they found the first village overrun with sick people.
The first night there, they encountered a large lizard creature that attacked the village cow. It noticed when it was discovered, and it ran. They guessed that the lizard was somehow infecting the cow with some toxin, which was transferring to the villagers through the cow's milk.
The party traveled the next day to an island in the middle of the ring of islands, where they found the remains of an old man who was supposedly banished from all the villages many years ago. They returned to the first island.
That night, they set up an ambush and captured the lizard creature when it returned. They used magical means to discover its nest, and went hunting near that center island again. They found and smushed the nest of eggs, and they recovered the body of the mate from Barry's undead vatrole. With the thanks of the villagers and the priests, they traveled six days to Lojem.
